About Me

Clare Rainsford is an archaeologist and a poet living in York. Archaeologically, I research the relationship between humans and animals in the past with a particular interest in ritual and cosmology in Britain in the first millennium AD; for more on this, please see my blog (fromthebonesoftheland.wordpress.com) or my Twitter profile (@littlebonelady). PastSong shares my poetry and other creative output, which often draws on my professional work. All content is intended to be accessible to a general audience – heritage professionals and non-professionals, poetry readers and non-poetry readers.

If you enjoy what you’ve read, a collection of my work (12 Octobers) is available here.

All poems, writing and images are copyright Clare Rainsford unless stated otherwise and should not be reproduced without permission.
